Mobile Homes
•Bring the title or registration to the Treasurer's office. •We will research and examine for taxes, penalties, and interest that must be paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes (One-Year-In-Advance) on the mobile home. •If moving, there is a $10 fee for Single-Wide and a $20 for Double-wide mobile homes and we will need the address information of where the mobile home is being moved to. •If being sold or trading, we will need the new owner's name and mailing address so they can be correctly be billed. •If mobile home is paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes, We will issue a tax release to you to take to NM M.V.D. to transfer title or update their information. •Once the title is transferred, you must take the new title to the McKinley County Assessor's office to update their records and complete the process. Mobile Homes
If your title or registration is lost, stolen, or destroyed, you may obtain the registration at M.V.D. or M.V.D. Letter/Printout and bring it to our office. We do not have public records of titles or registrations, we use the information on the title or registration that is given to us for the tax releases or moving permits. We must have the title or registration to match with M.V.D.'s records or M.V.D. will not accept it and send you back to our office to have it corrected. Once we receive the registration, you may apply for a Duplicate Title with NM M.V.D.

Mobile Homes
•Bring the title or registration to the Treasurer's office. •We will research and examine for taxes, penalties, and interest that must be paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes (One-Year-In-Advance) on the mobile home. •The owner of the mobile home must own the real estate to which the mobile home is on. So the title of the mobile home must have the same owner(s) name(s) as it says on the land/deed. •If mobile home does not have the same owner(s) name(s) as it says on the land/deed, you must transfer the title to the correct owner(s) name(s). •If mobile home is paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes, We will issue a tax release and you will go to the Assessor's office to request that it be taxed as real property, which is called a Change of Valuation Letter. •After the Change of Valuation is signed and completed in the Assessor's office, you then take the tax release to NM M.V.D. to deactivate the title. •Once the title is deactivated, you must take the new title to the McKinley County Assessor's office to update their records and complete the process.

Auction registration for individuals who wish to bid on property is usually scheduled two hours before the start of the auction on the day of the auction. Registration closes promptly at the start of the sale. Bidding is on an oral basis and the property is awarded to the highest bidder. Bidders must be physically present or represented by an agent. The county Treasurer's office does not furnish title information or maps. It is the prospective buyer's responsibility to do all title research before the sale. All research should be done at the county offices and the Motor Vehicle Division. Property is sold to the highest bidder and is sold "as is".
